Here are some pictures from all of our fun summer adventures! Being a "Summer Stay at Home Mom" is so much fun! We've painted, colored our playhouse (thanks Aunt Michelle for the birthday present!), and played in our kiddie pools! It's been quite hot here lately so we've been staying inside quite a bit, but that's given me time to organize a few things and just relax with the kids! Behind as usual, but I'm going to be updating the blog in the next few days! Quiet afternoons after Vacation Bible School have made this possible!!! Here are some pictures from Liliana's Third Birthday! We had a "Ladybug" theme! She was very excited about having "THREE" ladybugs! Mom did a great job on her cake! We got a bouncer (also a birthday request!) and everyone had a blast! Can't believe that my sweet baby is already three years old! At her check up, she is still growing very tall for her age (80% percentile) and her weight (33 pounds I think..) is about 50% for her age. She is talking much much much clearer everyday, and her vocabulary amazes me! Her favorite phrases (most of which are copied from me! Yikes!): "Here's the Deal", "Mom, the problem is...", " He's probably over there" (adds probably to everything...)... and many more!

Freedom!

We just got back from an incredible vacation on the "Freedom of the Seas" 7 night cruise! It was awesome and great time for Kevin and I to spend some much needed time . We shared our vacation with a great set of friends..there were 8 of us in all!! The kids split the week with both sets of grandparents, which made them have an incredible week too! We visited Haiti (a private area on the coast of Haiti owned by Royal Carribbean), Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico. Each port was beautiful, but my favorite spot was in Haiti! It was simply gorgeous. We went up onto a lookout point and found one of the most awesome views! It made you sit back and appreciate God's handiwork! Pictures to come soon!!

Like Father, Like Children ...

This morning Carter noticed Kevin's cowboy hats hanging from our bed post. He had to try to it on. He also, just happened to have on overalls, which made for an adorable picture!!!!!!! (don't mind the mess!)

Of course, Liliana had to have a turn too!!

They are growing up so quickly!!! Liliana will be three in just a few months! We are looking at preschool programs to start her in! She is so smart and loves to learn so I know that she's going to have a blast at "big girl school".

Carter is growing like a weed too!! He's gained about 3 pounds since Christmas!!! He' s also getting taller! Since we've gotten control over his Acid Reflux, he's eating everything in sight! The little baby who would throw up at the site of vegetables stole green beans from my plate last night!!! He's talking quite a bit-most of which I can't understand.. but sometimes I get a few sentences here and there! His favorite song is the "Veggie-tales" song. He walks around the house singing "bom bom bom booooooommmmm... if you like to talk to tomatoes"... :)

Making a snow man with daddy...

Well, we're on day 2 of being snowed in! (Kevin has been out everyday..so I guess we're not snowed "in" ..but whatever) School has been canceled and it's pretty likely there's a couple more days of it to come! I have to say, while I LOVE spending time with the kids and hanging out..I'm pretty stir crazy! So, plenty of time to update our always behind blog!

Since this is pretty much my "baby book" and journal of what the kids are up to..let me catch you up to date:

The kids are doing great! Liliana is doing great and learning so fast! She knows her colors, numbers up to 10 (counting, not visual), sings her ABCs, and several other fun songs! She's learning her letters-and knows a few. For example, whenever she sees a "S" she says.. "SSSsssss SNAKE! ..Ewwwww!!!!" It's very cute!

Carter's doing great too! He's been sick the past few days but is doing better. We've been trying to figure out what's going on with his reflux. He constantly (Like usually 2-3 times a week) throws up and we'd like to know what's causing it. We're going back to the dr. at the end of the week to find out what's going on hopefully! He's talking up a storm and has a hilarious personality. A few words he says are Mama, DaddEEEE, Liliana (which he does quite well saying..), MawMaw, PawPaw, Lala, Papa, Rufus (our new dog), John Deere, Tom Tom, the list goes on ... He's started putting things together for sentences even! "I want juice" is a daily favorite! I love being able to communicate with him and watch him interact with Liliana!

What an awesome Thanksgiving we've had. Last Saturday, we had lunch with Kevin's side of the family. On Thanksgiving Day we had lunch with Gincy's side of the family. While we were at Poppy's house (Gincy's Grandfather), I took some pictures of two of the things in my life I am most thankful for.....

I am also thankful for my family and friends and the blessed life that God has allowed me to have. Thank God for the blessings in your life each day.....

I'm pretty sure my eyes are closed and that this is a horrible picture of me--but it's not all about me :) The reason I've been MIA from blogging is because it's "marching season" (for some..football) and I've been spending my time with the Heritage Drumline! That time paid off this past weekend when we were awarded the Best in Class and Best Overall Drumline in the Heart of Georgia Band Competition. It wasn't an easy competition either. There were 7 bands in our class and quite a bit in the entire competition. While I am a very proud "mama" to these kids and very happy that they did so well this season, I'm also very happy to have more time to spend with my kids! (and catch up with life!)

Wow..it's been a month since I've posted. I apologize for my abesence! We've had a wonderful time with Fall Football and marching band and have been super busy lately!

Carter turned 14 months last week! He's jabbering away and finally getting some teeth (two on top, one on bottom).

Liliana is potty training...not mommy's favorite thing AT ALL!!! There's just nothing fun about it! But hopefully we can get it down and this stage will be over. It is pretty cute to hear and see Carter try to use the potty and say "peepee" every time Liliana goes to the potty! I think he might be a little easier to train with such a good role model! :)

Big Girl Bed

Liliana has moved up to a "big girl bed". Kevin changed her crib into a day bed-with a little bit of help from Liliana of course. She's slept in it every night since then without any trouble! We knew it was time to change the bed over because she had been asking to sleep on the floor for the past week or so. After she slept on the mattress on the floor for a week, we decided she was ready!

Liliana has been busy the past month. She started taking dance classes! Her class is titled "Creative Movement" and she is having a great time!

She also went bowling for the first time this month. I had a Bunco night with the girls and Kevin and another dad took the kids bowling! From the report from dad and Liliana-she had an awesome time!

Kevin's statement was "the ball went down the aisle so slow that she laid down to watch it, and I had time to take 2-3 pictures of it before it hit the pins!" This is one of the most adorable pictures!!!!

Carter turned 11 months old on the 18th... Where did my baby go? All of a sudden, I have two toddlers (YIKES!) He's such a cutey pie and great kid. He's been walking so much more and loves to push his Mickey Mouse toy around everywhere. He LOVES the water. I think he's secretly a tadpole. When we were at the beach, his favorite time was in the pool. He would go underwater and doggy paddle to Kevin! It's crazy..never seen any kid love the water so much! He has become a lot more vocal the past few weeks. He and Liliana have "conversations"...too bad mommy and daddy aren't privy to what their talking about!!!! Guess I should start planning that 1st birthday party-it'll be here before I know it!

Carter is 10 months old today! Can you believe that my silly boy is almost a year old? It seems like just yesterday I found out that I was pregnant!
Some notable things about Carter:
1. he is a HAM! He has the cutest facial expressions and can be very silly.
2. he's so close to walking but not quite there- yesterday, he stood up in the middle of the floor all by himself! He loves to walk with any toys that he can push... now...just to let go and he'll be on his way!
3. he's talking up a storm. He'll say "mama", "dada", and I'm pretty sure he's calling Liliana "Ana", which is adorable!
4. Oh.. am I in for it-Carter and Liliana are already "fussing". I hear more than once a day.. "mommy, Carter hit me!" Well--at least he can take up for himself?! No, seriously, most of the time he loves his sister..but the more they interact, the more lessons in sharing that have to occur!
5. did I mention that I can't get enough of this cutie?!?! He loves to snuggle and mommy takes full advantage of rocking him to sleep and cuddling (all the things that Liliana doesn't like--she'd rather be left alone in her bed.)
6. What an awesome blessing from God! :)

Two years ago , I became a mommy! There's not a day that goes by that I don't thank Liliana's birthmother for allowing Kevin and I to be her parents. I have NO idea how I could live life without this sweet baby girl. I am constantly reminded of God' s grace and mercy in our lives through Liliana. She's growing so fast and becoming such a beautiful little girl. I love seeing her grow and learn each and everyday. I thank God for allowing her to be a part of our lives and family!

Need to Update!

I'm such a slacker..well, not really. I have come here to update several times and then I think- OH.. I still need to upload those pictures for the blog. So, I'm posting with no pictures! :) Things that have been going on lately:

Liliana's almost TWO!! Only 1.5 weeks to go! I can't believe it! Where did my little girl go! She's at such a fun age! Love it! Her language skills are developing so much each day. She'll throw out sentences and sometimes I have NO clue what she's saying but most of the time I'm like "how in the world did she know that?!!?"
Carter is 9.5 months- This Sunday he woke up from his nap with a 104 temp. YIKES! Mommy was more than a little concerned. After several phone calls, we headed to an after hours pediatritian to find out that he has Croup. It's a nasty cough. The fever seems to be gone--but baby Carter has not been a happy camper lately!
Only 20 days (18 student days and 2 post planning) until I'm a "Summer Stay at Home Mommy"! I can't wait! :) I love hanging out with the kids and getting to spend time with them. I hope we can take a few day trips to the zoo, museums, etc this summer as well as our vaca to the beach (which we're PRAYING that there won't be oil everywhere!)
Our friends Holli and Scott are expecting!!! I can't tell you how excited I am for them. I know that their road to parenthood hasn't been smooth but the blessings are on their way!!! :)
Did I mention Vacation was in less than a month! ?!!?!?
Carter's "Cruising" everywhere and I expect him to walk soon! He doesn't like to walk though--he'll stand up, move over a little and then drop down and crawl at incredible speeds to wherever he wants to go. He's still in the "I'd rather just crawl " state!
Okay.. guess that's about it! I promise to stay in touch more often! :)

Hanging Out!

We were playing outside with Liliana and Carter over the weekend when Carter reached up for the tree. We decided to see how much arm strength he had-- He LOVED it... I let COMPLETELY go of him and he just laughed and laughed...Liliana wanted a turn too but wasn't quite sure of it all!

Well, Carter turned 8 months old last week (sorry..a little behind because he was sick and pictures didn't look quite "up to par" ) and he's all over the place. He LOVES to crawl after his sister throughout the entire house. Liliana will get down and crawl with him and they will laugh and laugh at one another. (you can see her chasing him in the back of this picture). He's eating puffs and cheerios and drinks from a sippy cup, says mama and daddy and waves (although it's not always at the right time yet!) OH..and he's pulling up on EVERYTHING! He loves to crawl to the bathtub and pull up and just stare into the tub-I guess it's just the right height for him?! :) Gotta love those big blue eyes!

22 months

Liliana turned 22 months on Sunday! We're getting so close to two. For some reason, being 2 makes it seem like she's no longer a baby and has hit the toddler years!! (and believe me...we've experienced a few of those "terrible two" moments already :) ) She's talking up a storm! I told Kevin the other day that she's a walking ad for Apple! Instead of putting "Me" in front of her words like most toddlers I know..she uses "I" . Her favorite sentences are "I eat", "I bath", "I outside", "I wash", "I do it" ...can we say independent!!!

One of her new favorite things to do (which just makes my day) is that she LOVES to sit up on the counter while I cook dinner (I promise I keep her far away from any hot stuff). She will sit and talk, color, draw, etc. and it's such a nice "Mommy and Me" time. Tonight, we had a little "Drum" lesson ! :) May be a little biased...but I think she's got some talent!

Yep..It's official! Carter's crawling! He's finally stopped "lurching" forward and actually figured out how to do the "official" crawl moves! He's all over the place! I love to watch him grow and can't believe he's already on the move! And yes...he did just crawl across the room...turn over the basket of toys I JUST picked up and started playing so contently. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful, healthy children! I'll have to try to get some video of the crawling asap! :)

Carter turned 7 months old on Thursday! He's getting so big! He's sitting on his own--all the time! He's even trying to get into the sitting position by himself (from laying/without someone sitting him up). He says mama, dada, baba quite well ...and loves to just babble all the time! Crawling...well, we're not quite there yet- He loves to get up on all fours and rock back and forth...then he just lunges forward and usually hits his face on the floor.. he'll get there soon! He loves to eat-he's even started feeding himself yogurt melts and puffs!
And he's definitely a Mama's Boy..which makes me very happy!

Inching Closer....

to TWO! Liliana turned 21 months old yesterday! I can't believe she'll be two in just a few short months! I love her so much! I've gotten bad about updating..so I'll try to list some things she's up to...
1. I love her faces.... she's def. has her almost "terrible two" moments when she whines and cries-- mostly because she can't figure out how to tell us how she feels...but they are still adorable.
2. She's talking up a storm. There are so many new words every day that I can't keep up with them!
3. She loves her little brother. Just today at the Pizza place she was trying to share her pizza with him, and her sippy cup! She's such a loving sister and always lets us know if "Tarter" isn't happy. However, as he gets more mobile, she things he can play and doesn't always know to play "easy" with him. She has "tackled" him a few times...we're working on it!
4. She can run, jump (LOVES to do this), has mastered stairs, and has absolutely no fear in the world when it comes to heights, jumping, climbing, etc. We're still in the crib..but I know that it will probably need to go soon...
5. Potty training...not really starting this until the summer probably, but she knows what it is and loves to sit on it...hey, that's a start right!
6. There's nothing better than your baby looking at you and saying "love you mommy"!!!!!!!!!!

We might have some snotty noses from it, but we sure did have a great time on the "Snow Day 2010". We had about 5 inches of snow fall! Liliana and Kevin had a great time making a large snowman ! She was so cute bringing Kevin snow to help make the snowman and helping to pack it in. Carter just wanted to sit and put his hands into the snow. I couldn't believe it snowed so much in such a little time period. I have to say...there was a little kid inside me that enjoyed playing in the snow too! A big thanks to our neighbors, Katie and David, for taking our picture (Carter was down for a nap when we finished the snowman..so he didn't make the family picture).

Today's is Carter's 6 month birthday...he's half a year old!! Where did time go..... I can't believe it has been 1/2 a year since God blessed us with the second miracle of our life! As I reflect on the past 6 months, I realize how much our life as a family has changed. When we first brought Carter home, I was terrified (No lies!). I had no idea how we would handle life with two small children, so close in age. But I also knew that God gives you what he knows you can handle. As the months have gone by, I cannot imagine life without my kids..both of them. Carter just said "Mama" for the first time (YIPEEE!!). I was so excited to hear this. I know that he doesn't understand who he's talking to, but still..it's so nice to hear those words! :) He's getting so big and almost crawling-he can scoot backwards really well-if only he could figure out the frontward motion thing! Liliana is 20 months old this week as well. Again, I can't believe my baby is almost 2 years old!!! We went with the youth on a trip last night, and as some of the youth were talking in the backseat...all I could think was...my kids are going to be "them" so quickly...

For New Year's we went to Pigeon Forge, TN with Grandma and Grandpa (Gincy's parents). We had a great time, but the most fun was had at the Ripley's Aquarium. Liliana LOVED the fish, although she didn't enjoy trying to touch them. :) We had a great time watching the fish and watching the kids' fascination with them! They say that "what you're doing on New Year's, You'll do all year long">....so that's the plan ...be on vacation all year ! hehe..I wish!

When we were at Kevin's parents for Christmas, we also had Carter's Christening. We are very blessed to have Kevin's dad to this for us. Carter's cousins, Addison and Wesley Jr., were also christened the same day. It was a great, special day to spend with friends and family!

Christmas..part 1

On Christmas Eve, we visited my Grandfather's house and enjoyed dinner and presents with my side of the family. As you can see, we had a blast. Liliana is usually a little weary of my Grandfather (Poppy), but she's getting so much better about letting him hold her. I guess it's just because she's not around him much, but she did great on Christmas Eve. He did have to "lure" her in a little though with a "Sucker Tree". She loved the suckers so much she even shared with the stuffed Santa! She loved opening presents and wearing my presents (see picture with a hat and scarf on her head!). Carter racked up on some baby food/formula (YEah!!!!) and mom started both the kids with a "Collection" that she could add to each Christmas. Carter will carry on somewhat of a family tradition with a nutcracker collection and mom couldn't decide on Liliana's so she gave her both an angel and snowglobe. She so was sweet with the angel. She looked at it, looked at the manger scene that was set up nearby and went and sat it in the middle of the manger scene...wow...

Winter Wonderland

Here are some pictures from the Church's "Winter Wonderland". As usual, Kevin was driving the hayride in the John Deere tractor. I'm pretty sure he had more fun than anyone! :) He was especially excited to let Liliana "drive" with him and take a few pictures on the John Deere with Carter! I think it was his "first" John Deere Tractor ride! :) We got to make crafts, eat cookies, and see Santa too! As you can see, Liliana was exactly a fan of Santa, but she didn't scream or cry so it wasn't too bad! We had a great time!

The Wonder of Christmas

Yes, I'm a little behind on the blogging..but don't worry, I'm planning on catching you up right now!

This Christmas has been one of the most fun ever for us! God has blessed us with two beautiful, healthy children. I can't think of how life could be any better! We have a home, wonderful family and friends, and children to share life with. Each day I'm reminded to lay our lives into God's hands and he will continue to bless us in his plan! During this season of Christmas we reflect on the gift that God has given us through his son! The wonder of Christmas through the birth of Jesus Christ has been even more evident to me this year. Just little things--like how on earth did Mary ride on a donkey 9 months pregnant--I couldn't even walk, let alone get myself onto a donkey and ride for such a long time! :) While that is pretty funny--it's only a small part of the large miracle of Christmas! I love nothing more than to see that wonder through my children's eyes... I hope God has and will bless you and your family throughout this season of love!

Carter has started eating baby food recently. He's tried rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, and sweet potatoes. So far, he's enjoyed all of those! :) He's quite an eater! (that might be why he already weighs 15 pounds!) He'll be 5 months old at the end of the week! I can't believe it! He's sitting up for about 5 seconds before he falls over :), pushes up, scoots around the floor, is rolling everywhere, loves to "talk", plays in the exersaucer, and laughs at everything! We are truly blessed by our children!

Carter turned 4 months old this week! He's growing so fast! He LOVES to smile and we are seeing his little personality more and more each day. On Friday, we tried a little bit of rice cereal to see if he would like to eat- not a real fan of it...but I'm sure he'll catch on fast! He loves to play in the bumbo and jumperoo now too. He's got rolling over from stomach to back down pat, and its working hard to go the opposite direction too! We have a checkup on Monday, so I'll update with stats then.

ROLL OVER!!! Carter rolled over yesterday for the first time! Kevin and I were on the floor playing with him and we stopped for a minute to talk to one another and once we "left him alone" he got upset and turned over all by himself! I love that little boy so much! He loves to hear me sing to him, which is my favorite thing about him. The smile that comes across his face when he hears my voice can melt my heart in seconds. He's growing up so quickly. I will post some new pictures soon! The kids will be 4 months and 18 months old next week. I can't believe it! Time flies...

Asthma

I can't remember how much I posted about this earlier, but Liliana officially has Asthma. We just went for a recheck with the pulmonologist yesterday. All of the medicine that she's been on (and inhaler and Singulair) seem to be clearing up the problems with bronchitis, upper respiratory infections. I'm so happy to have an answer and to have a healthy little girl. She loves taking her inhaler every nice and does a great job with it! What makes baby happy ...makes mommy happy! Isn't she adorable!!

The past two weekends have been full of fun for us.... Last weekend we went to Kevin's "Nanny's" 100th Birthday Party! We were so happy to be able to celebrate this wonderful day with her. We took some pictures of her and Carter together--the oldest and youngest there. While everyone was taking pictures, she leaned over to Kevin and said "hey, tell them to save some for next year!!". If only I can have her spunk when I get old....

We also took the opportunity to take a "Moon Family Picture" while we were all together. The only ones missing are Bailey and Bryon.

And of course, since we were at Kevin's grandparents house---Liliana had to ride the tractor...only problem this time was that she wouldn't ride with anyone but Mommy!!!!! So....what would a mommy do..>I rode the tractor! (and it wasn't green....)

I just realized that it was already October and I've fallen behind on my updates. Sorry about that...life has been pretty crazy. Everyone in the house has been sick over the past couple of weeks. We've finally pretty much gotten everyone well. However, the dr. is 99% sure that Liliana has asthma. Now, I wasn't that up on asthma and only really though that it was when you have an "Asthma Attack" ..but her's is more like wheezing, coughing, etc caused by seasonal allergies and/or sinus infections, etc. We have an appt. with a pediatric pulmonologist in a couple of weeks. Hopefully we can figure this out and keep her well through the winter!

Carter is getting so big and changing so fast!! He's up to about 11 pounds and is 11 weeks old! He has just started smiling and laughing at everything! He's become such a happy baby in the past couple of weeks!!! I just love to see him smile! Tonight he was laughing! Too cute!! Here's a picture of him in his "man outfit". I hate to put him in sleepers all the time and I'm so excited that he finally (Almost) fits his 0-3 months clothes and I can dress him like a little man --which I think it adorable!

We're Swingin!

Liliana LOVES to crawl up into Carter's swing. This past weekend I went to put Carter down in the swing and Liliana wouldn't get out. So... I did like all mother's would-and asked her to share! LOL!! It was too cute so I had to grab the camera! Here are a few pictures from their "swing" together! Liliana is SO good with her little brother! Carter is getting used to her as well. There are some times I think he rolls his eyes at her when she comes to "see"him and kiss him, play with him, etc. I can't believe it but this week Liliana turns 16 months old and Carter turns 2 months old! It's so crazy how fast time flies.

Sunday night we enjoyed dinner with Jill, Aaron, and Levi. Levi and Liliana were HILARIOUS together! Levi had learned "bellybutton" and Liliana would pull up her shirt (Much to daddy's dislike) and let him show it too her. Now (thanks Levi!) Liliana "looks" for everyone's bellybutton and has also learned the word! She's adding words to the vocabulary DAILY! She's got "Bath, ball, down," and a few other new ones just this week. The other day she called the babysitter by name as well! I'm so excited about this stage in her life. Carter is growing like a weed. He goes back to the dr. for 2 month checkup/vaccines next week. I'm anxious to see how he's growing. He's been eating better, loves to smile, and it's interacting with us more and more....now..if only I could convince him that 4 AM isn't the best time for breakfast!!!!!!!

Labor Day Laughter

On Labor Day, Kevin and I, Liliana, Carter, and my parents, all ventured out to the Yellow River Game Ranch ! (YES, we totally stole the idea from Jill and Aaron...hope she doesn't mind!). We had a great time. Liliana was running everywhere and giggled every time she fed an animal. Carter enjoyed the visit also--all tucked away in the sling! It was a great day of family fun! Oh...and yes, Kevin tried to get Liliana to "ride the pig"--see the left middle picture.. (which I'm SURE was against the rules!). He did NOT like that at all--but couldn't exactly run away because he was entirely TOO fat to go anywhere. It was quite hilarious!

Here's a picture of one of Carter's first smiles. He's smiled for me a few times, but I can never get him to smile while I'm taking a picture. Kevin caught this with his phone last night before bath time. I think it's just too precious!

vaccine...
Shots for both kids today. Liliana and Carter both did well with them. Carter did better than I expected. He cried for about 5 seconds after the shot and that was it. Liliana put on a little more of a show for us..but was still good. In her defense, she had to get two shots and Carter only got one. She was a little whiny tonight and went to bed early but other than that she seems fine.
Other updates from the dr.--
Carter is 8 lbs. 4 ounces and 20.5 inches long! WoW... he's grown from 6 lb. 14 ounces to that in 2 weeks!!!! That puts him in about the 20th percentile for both height and weight. We're still having "tummy trouble" and the dr. called it "mild colic" and has told us to try prune juice (for lack of dirty diapers :)) and Zantac for the acid reflux. Hopefully it will help and Carter's tummy will be feeling better very soon!
Liliana weighs 22 pounds and is 30 something (AHHH...I forgot already... ) inches long. Anyway...she is in the 90th percentile for her height and about 60 percent for her weight. She's doing great and everything is "on target" for her. Hopefully no more dr. visits until 18 months!

Hannah came and took pictures today. (YES...we had an eventful day!!) I can't wait to see our new "family photos"!!! We took them in "John Deere" colors/attire... and I have to say--they are going to be cute as a button! :0 Can't wait to see them!

I can't believe it but my sweet baby Carter will be one month old tomorrow. What a blessing it has been to add another child to our family. Things are a little more hectic at the Moon household..but we're adjusting to having two little ones! We are going to the dr. tomorrow. I can't wait to see how much Carter weighs- I think he's somewhere in the 8 pound range!!

Liliana turned 15 months old last week! She getting to be such a big girl. I feel like my baby has turned into a toddler overnight! She's started talking so much more. She LOVES to try to imitate the words you say. :) She can also identify all the body parts on her face- eyes, ears, nose, mouth. Her newest trick is to take her clothes off! Hopefully that's a phase she's be out of soon!

And the two shall become one...

So, Liliana might be a ballerina, a gymnast, a dr, lawyer, etc...but after this afternoon I can't see being an "artist" in her future!!! I was getting bored with going to the sandbox/playset every afternoon after lunch (plus is pretty darn hot outside), so I decided to have an "indoor art project" today with Lil'. I got some white paper and black (washable..thank goodness) paint..thinking I could frame this "artwork" and put it up in the playroom.... So..after preparing everything, I put Lil' in the high chair in only her diaper so she could make a mess and put the paper in front of her. After convincing her to dip her hand in the paint, this is what happened......

She was EXTREMELY upset with being dirty.... she wanted to get the paint off as soon as possible. After screaming, kicking, and a quick bath, all was better.... So, needless to say, I'm going to have to wait for playroom artwork...and maybe should encourage a cleaner "avenue" of creativity next time.

Our past week has been full of fun with Carter in the house! We are all doing great! Liliana has adjusted quite well to Carter being home, now that things have settled down a bit. She is such a loving big sister. Carter, as you can see from the pictures, is already full of personality. He's been a great baby. He's finaly caught on to the eating thing and I'm sure that when we go to the dr. tomorrow his weight will be back up to at least his birth weight. He is sleeping WONDERFULLY! I'm not one to brag to much..but for the past two nights he's been sleeping at least 5-6 hours at night! It has been awesome! He's a happy baby except when the bath time comes (as you can probably "hear" in the pictures of bath time below) He definately has a set of lungs that he will share with all when he's not happy about something! What a blessing it has been to have this little miracle become a part of our lives!

Wishing a Happy Birthday to my two favorite men! (well..they might have to share a little after Carter gets here..but for now..) I think it's totally awesome that Kevin and my dad share a birthday! We thought Carter might be able share in this wonderful birthday-but it looks like they are all going to be within a week of one another. My grandfather's birthday is July 14, Dad and Kevin on July 15 and we'll just have to see what date Carter is going to claim!!

I can't believe it ..but Lil' is 14 months old today!! She's running around the house everywhere and talking up a storm. She will repeat almost everything you say... but her favorite words are mama, dada, uh-oh, Brown Bear, and John Deere (OF course..). I think I hear the word "Mama" about 250 or more times a day!!! I love it!

We are almost ready for Carter's arrival. Well...to be honest..I'm as ready as I'm going to be! :) His room is ready, clothes are washed/put away, bags are packed..and there's a little bit of John Deere in my "old" guest room. The only thing in the room I need to finish is the curtains..which I totally forgot about until last night when we were hanging some things on the wall. There is a futon in the room for those who would still like to spend the night! It's quite comfy! I've napped there a lot lately! We are about 2 weeks away from Carter's "expected" arrival and I can't wait! :)

that's exactly how the nurse at the dr.'s office described me today..right after they told me I've gained TEN pounds in the past TWO weeks... ummm.. For those of you who've been kinda close to the dr. reports - I have not gained any weight in the past 2 months or so of my pregnancy. They were even starting to worry a little about the fact I hadn't gained weight. Well...just makin' up for lost time I guess! They said that most of it was probably water/fluid I was retaining in my "cankles" and puffy little fingers.. Still...I almost cried when I stepped on the scale!

Also, I've not been feeling Carter move quite as much as I had in the past, so I mentioned it to the dr. today. She hooked me up to the "fetal monitor" to watch his heartrate/movements for about 20 minutes today. After 20 minutes, she still was a little worried about the heartrate (and it's continuous up/down--no baseline could be found..) So ...I had to visit the hospital for an ultrasound and more fetal monitoring. Carter passed the hospital test with flying colors and I'm back home now. WOW... made me really think about the fact that I should pack a bag..NOW..not later (like I keep putting off). Before my visit next week, you better believe I will have a bag packed! Anyway...all is well and Carter is still scheduled to come in a little less than 4 weeks!

We had a great weekend this weekend. My wonderful friend Susan threw a great shower at a local bakery (GREAT place for a shower..evidently contributed to the ten pounds a little though!Oops!). Here's a picture of us! (She's ten weeks behind me in her pregnancy (with a little girl!).

Okay..your one preggo picture for the trip! I'm 33 weeks and a few days in this picture! Only about 6 weeks left! Yikes!!!
We LOVE sitting on the swings at the river in Charleston and watching the boats (If you know about "the boat show" -Kevin was thrilled to see them this year, even though we didn't go!).

One of the days in Charleston, we ventured out to Sullivan's Island. While it wasn't nearly as beautiful to me as the Gulf coast we visit every year, we did have fun writing the kids names in the sand... I hope to print and frame these! :) We missed Liliana dearly-but she had a blast with Lala and Papa!! Her new skill--walking..I mean "really" walking-- no more 2 steps here and there..she's making it around pretty good these days! :):)

Six years ago today, I married my best friend. Tonight, there were no fancy dresses or tuxes, no fancy dinners and dancing.. just Pj's, spaghetti-o's (yes..he saw Lil' eating them for dinner and decided that would be great for us to eat too!!!) and wonderful summer watermelon..but still it was great time spent with my best friend! I look forward to many more years ....

We're looking forward to our "anniversary"/"babymoon" trip to Charleston next week! I can't wait to spend some time with my hubby! :) (Not that I won't miss my baby...she's staying a Lala and Papa's for a few days..)

10 short weeks

In just 10 short weeks, we will get to meet "Carter Howell" - our new baby Moon :) I have certainly gotten to the point of being estatic about the thought of meeting him! I cannot express how blessed I feel to have one wonderful child with another on the way! Life is SO good (Please..remind of this when I'm chasing two toddlers around!!!!) I wish I could say that things were all in order and ready for his arrival....they aren't.... .but they are definately on their way to that point. The nursery furniture is in place (with no linens yet...but don't worry..the John Deere stuff will soon be there..). I think we might paint this summer if there is time/energy. :) Some very wonderful friends have given me some of the cutest little boy hand me downs!!! I am IN LOVE with baby boy overalls!!! They had a nice "basket shower" for me at school-got lots of diapers, wipes, and cute little boy stuff !

Only 5 more days of school and I will be able to be a "SSATM" (I'm stealing Natalie's idea)-- a "Summer Stay at Home Mom". I can't wait! Pool, swingset..and my favorite recliner..here we come!!!!

Chosen.. the word we waited so long to hear in our adoption story! One year ago today we got the call from the adoption agency that D. had chosen us to be Liliana's parents! I have to say that I'm not usually a sentimental person (really..it's just not my thing) but today-all day- I continuous thought about and praised God for Liliana and her presence in our lives. I don't know what I would do without my baby girl. She is the light of my life and I can't wait to see her each morning, catch that smile at the babysitter when I pick her up, and play with her each evening. She is growing up so fast. And I had to think about where Kevin and I were one year ago today- we sat at the kitchen table with the speaker phone on and listened to details about D. and her baby. I have to say that I tuned out after they told me she was due in one week..ONE WEEK! I didn't catch many details after that! Being a SLIGHT bit stubborn and always getting her way, however, Liliana waited 2 weeks and let mommy sink in to the fact she was going to be a mommy! :) I know that I posted about this at the time, but it begs to be reminded- No matter how much control you think you have in your life and how much you want for something- nothing is going to happen until God's ready for it- and guess what folks- His timing is INCREDIBLE! If you would have told us 1 year ago, that I'd be mommy to a beautiful little girl AND have a handsome (i'm making some assumptions due to his daddy's looks :) young man on the way- I would have never believed it-but as we know- with God all things are possible! (okay...I'm off to sing that praise song that's now stuck in my head..) Have a blessed evening..

Okay..my first official "belly" pictures --now that I'm looking more pregnant instead of just fat! :) I am 25 weeks along this week. I am amazed at how fast pregnancy has gone by! I'm over halfway there! (scary and exciting all in one). As of last week, baby M. weighed about 1.5 pounds and still measuring to arrive in late July/beginning of August. We can't wait for the arrival of our son! In the meantime, we're on the search for names-we have one we are pretty stuck on and will probably make a final decision in the next few weeks. Baby M. loves to move and kick!! He's all over the place! Recently, I've actually been able to see my belly move when he is kicking. It is truly an amazing feeling to know that you're "growing someone" inside of you! God is so good! :)

We had an absolutely blessed Easter this year. I hope that each one of you celebrated our Risen Savior and enjoyed the day together. We had my family over for lunch and enjoyed time with them. Kevin, Lil', and I got to enjoy a day at "Aunt Michelle and Uncle Rob's" house with Kevin's family yesterday. We had brunch and an Easter Egg hunt and some outdoor playtime that afternoon. In the midst of the day, we attempted to take a family photo of the grandchildren. Let's just say that getting three babies and three "pre" teen's in the same picture wasn't the easiest task!!!!! Out of about 20 pictures, this one's the best! :) Not too bad! Back row from left to right- Bailey, Wes, Bryon/ Front row left to right, Wesley Jr., Liliana, Addison. It was such a great time with family! I'll post some more pictures as I sift through them. We had a blast-Thanks Michelle and Rob! :)

I know I'm a little late, but we've been out of town. My baby girl is 10 months old (as of Saturday!). I can't believe how time flies (i think I say this every month). Here are a few things she's mastered:

Pulling up and "cruising" around on the furniture
Standing all by herself--for about 3 seconds before she falls!
Vocabulary: Mama, Dada, up, yes (doesn't say it..but she nods quite well!), uh oh (per Lala and Papa this weekend..i haven't actually heard it yet!).
Teething--She has FOUR teeth coming in on the top ..ALL at one time! I know it must be painful-but she has been a trouper. So far, only one night of crying because of it and occasional fussiness-just don't try to touch it! :)
Attachment: She as starting sleeping with her doll and LOVES to hold on to it as she falls asleep. It is so precious! We bought her a new doll in Chicago this weekend and she immeadiately grabbed it and gave it a hug! I hope she can be this good with her new baby brother!
She has shown a little seperation anxiety but nothing bad. I had to run to the car when I was picking her up at the babysitter and she BAWLED until I got back! She also cries a little when we leave her in nursery at church sometimes.
Eating...um..everything in site! She loves to eat! She loves feeding herself-give her some veges and fruit and whatever is available!

Here are a few pictures from our weekend getaway to Chicago. It was Kevin's first plane ride. The only reason he got on a plane: Holli and Scott and John Deere Tractors! What more could you ask for! :) Holli and Scott moved to the Chicago area about a year ago and we miss them dearly. We had a BLAST hanging out with them and getting to see the city. (as well as the tractors and countryside). It was also a treat because it was St. Patty's day weekend and everyone was celebrating-they even dyed the river green. Kevin survived both flights and now feels like a seasoned flight traveler-especially since our home flight was delayed for 2 hours due to weather in Atl. Liliana stayed with Lala and Papa (Kevin's Parent's). I missed her badly and am very glad to have her back with mommy tonight! We bought her an "American Girl" doll at the store in Chicago and "Jr." (or whatever he might be eventually named) got a cute little John Deere hat and "Johnny the Tractor" and "Corny the Cornpicker" books (thanks to Holli and Scott). It was a great trip! Holli and Scott-you are the best! Thanks so much for making it a great weekend!
