A "Full" moon

It's official! Our adoption has been finalized and Liliana Grace is in our family forever! :) We finalized on Monday, October 27th. We celebrated the day by taking family pictures at the mall and making a special "Build-A-Bear" named "Bethany" (the name of our adoption agency). Although it doesn't change daily life in the Moon household, it is comforting to know that all the paperwork and not so fun parts of adoption are complete!

Crafty Mommy

I ventured out to my crafty side last weekend and made Liliana a dress!!! It's a cute and easy pattern and I made it in only about an hour. She even wore it to church the next day! I can't wait to get some Christmas fabric and give it another try (with some modifications after she pulled on the ribbons all day!)

The Return....

Today at about 4 p.m. (by the way it's a rainy, nasty day here), our neighbor's middle school son rang the doorbell. He's like "Hey, are you guys still missing your dog?" ....I was like..Yeah, but she's been gone for SEVEN days so I don't think she'll be back. He says.."We were out riding our bikes (He's ON his bike with a friend at my front door..in the rain).. and WE SAW YOUR DOG! She's down the street. So Kevin jumps in the car and returns about 5 minutes later with none other than..our wonder dog..LUCY! She's been gone for SEVEN days... and right now, she's resting comfortably with a full belly and probably feeling much better than she has in a while. I was amazed! I had honestly thought I would never see her again. I'm so happy she's safe and sound. So...Pirate Pug the wonder dog needs a Halloween costume. Any suggestions?!? Maybe I should make her a "Wonder Dog" cape! :):):):):):)

Happy 5 months!!

First, I apologize for not updating...life has been busy lately.

Liliana is FIVE months old today!!! Wow... She's getting so big..At the last Dr. visit (beginning of October) she weighed 15.2 pounds and is about 26' long!

I tried to compile a list of things she's done since I last updated....

--She's rolling over quite well...when she wants too that is...
--She's using her high chair all the time AND we have used the high chair when we were out to eat several times.
-- She sat in a buggy (shopping cart for those of you in areas other than the south) all by herself..well, with some help from a large package of wipes, so she didn't fall to the right...her favorite side to lean to I guess?!?
-- She TALKS..all the time!! It's really funny..she's been so quiet..but now she'll just start babbling on and on..and wants a response I must say!
--Along with the voice, has come some whining. For those who know Liliana well, you know that she just doesn't whine or cry usually..well, she's started whining a little--but if you look at her it turns into a laugh instantly...so funny!! :0
--We got to visit Kevin's family this past week and my grandfather. I'll try to post some more pictures of that soon.
--Wesley Jr. also came over to play! And, as you'll see from the picture..Liliana wasn't a very nice host! Well, she really was..but I caught this hilarious picture of her that looked like she was punching him! They both looked at each other and laughed quite a bit.. too cute!
-- We also had a visit with D., Liliana's birthmother, that was incredible. It was so great to see her and visit. Liliana laughed and smiled with her during lunch...it was precious and so important for D. and Lil'!
-- Lil' is eating...carrots, sweet potatoes (much to her father's dismay), and green peas (ugh!). Her favorite is most definitely carrots! She will eat them up in a heartbeat. Peas were not her fav. for the first few days, but she'll get them down now! She refuses rice cereal, but loves oatmeal!

That's probably about it for now. Happy 5 months to Liliana Grace!

Lucy...

On Friday morning, I let Lucy, our pirate pug, out just like I have been for four years. When Liliana and I got ready to leave and I still hadn't heard her bark to be let in, I went to find her. She is over 14 years old and sometimes doesn't bark or just stands close to the door instead of wanting to come in, but she never leaves our yard. Well, when I went to find her, she was no where to be found!! I searched the yard several times, called her, etc. I called Kevin and he came home and walked our neighbors yards and rode through the subdivision several times looking for her. We even called the pound several times to see if someone might have picked her up. We continued to look for her throughout the weekend. She is no where to be found..... We are sad that someone might have taken her from us, and only hope that she is in a safe place, whether it's someone's house or doggy heaven.... I would feel so much better off if I just knew where she was... Here are some of our favorite times with our pirate pug, who loved to sleep most of all, but also loved to dress up for Halloween! We'll miss you Lucy.....

I can "HEAR" clearly now....

For those of us who are around us a lot, you know that Liliana has been dealing with an ear infection for over a month! Well, after FOUR anitbiotics (2 of which were at the same time), she went to the Dr. this morning and got a "Clean" checkup on her ears! FINALLY!!! Although she didn't seem aggravated by it, I really hated having to give her so much medicine. I am so happy that it's over! Now, just pray it doesn't return!! :)
