Puffy...

that's exactly how the nurse at the dr.'s office described me today..right after they told me I've gained TEN pounds in the past TWO weeks... ummm.. For those of you who've been kinda close to the dr. reports - I have not gained any weight in the past 2 months or so of my pregnancy. They were even starting to worry a little about the fact I hadn't gained weight. Well...just makin' up for lost time I guess! They said that most of it was probably water/fluid I was retaining in my "cankles" and puffy little fingers.. Still...I almost cried when I stepped on the scale!

Also, I've not been feeling Carter move quite as much as I had in the past, so I mentioned it to the dr. today. She hooked me up to the "fetal monitor" to watch his heartrate/movements for about 20 minutes today. After 20 minutes, she still was a little worried about the heartrate (and it's continuous up/down--no baseline could be found..) So ...I had to visit the hospital for an ultrasound and more fetal monitoring. Carter passed the hospital test with flying colors and I'm back home now. WOW... made me really think about the fact that I should pack a bag..NOW..not later (like I keep putting off). Before my visit next week, you better believe I will have a bag packed! Anyway...all is well and Carter is still scheduled to come in a little less than 4 weeks!

We had a great weekend this weekend. My wonderful friend Susan threw a great shower at a local bakery (GREAT place for a shower..evidently contributed to the ten pounds a little though!Oops!). Here's a picture of us! (She's ten weeks behind me in her pregnancy (with a little girl!).

Forgive my "puffiness".....

You had a wonderful shower Sunday. I had a great time.

I had to do the exact same thing with Jasper and all turned out well. Except I was able to get an induction date set out of my ordeal :)

He's probably just running out of room so instead of feeling kicks and punches its more like rolling now.

As far as the 'water-weight' goes, I was put on bed rest a few days before Roman came and I lost 4 pounds in 2 days! Maybe you should do a self prescribed bed rest. Just don't let Kevin know it's really your idea and not the dr's :)

I know you and Kevin are tickled yellow and green (hahaha) about the arrival of Baby Carter, and I am, too! I can't wait to meet your little boy! I'll be praying that everything goes well for the remainder of you pregnancy and your labor and delivery. Also for his first few months as those are always the most trying.

We love you guys and couldn't be more excited for your growing family. Keep the updates coming, and I expect to be on the e-mail list for baby's first pictures!

1. Every pregnant lady has puffiness. Don't be depressed. Don't you remember seeing me about 4 weeks before Levi?

2. I gained 10 pounds in 1 week, and it was the last month too, so I'm sure it is just water (like mine) and all will be a-ok.

3. PACK A BAG!!!! You just never know when they'll send you to the hospital because of something like that.

4. Put me on a call list so I will be able to come visit you, Kevin, & Baby Carter at the hospital.

5. Your shower was bery nice and I had a great time. Thanks for inviting me. I hope we get together again soon.

Ok, I'm done giving you orders.

hm...induction...that would be wonderful! :)I feel like my fingers are going to pop from the swelling! The only probably is my blood pressure is "PERFECT"..so they aren't worried about the swelling..

I just need to be patient..and packt that bag! Any suggestions on what to put in it?! (From the "Experienced ones"..)

Gincy you sound like me 2 years ago at this time!!!

If I sat with my feet not elevated or stood for as little as 5 minutes my ankles and feet were huge! (Did you see them at Lori's wedding???)

I had so much water retention that it didn't come off by itself. I had to be put on a diruetic.

Pack that bag girl! I kept putting off packing and putting the car seat in. I did it just in time as Kaylee came 9 days before my due date.

As far as the monitor and his heart rate dropping - well when in labor at the hospital if I moved they would loose Kaylee's heartrate. They would rush in there because alarms would start going off and everything else. They couldn't get the internal monitors to stick to her head either. Come to find out - the child was sideways!

I am keeping the Moon family in my prayers and I can't wait for baby Carter to get here!

If it makes you feel any better, you don't look like you gained 10 pounds to me! When you figure out what to put in the bag, let me know. I don't want to forget anything important!!
